Established in 1924 Golden Beach is located on the border of Dade and Broward counties, surrounded by the cities of Aventura to the west, Sunny Isles Beach to the south, and Hallandale Beach to the north. High-rise residences,  and commercial development are not permitted. Golden Beach is an affluent city with mostly million-dollar homes, especially those located directly on more than a mile of private beach. Beautifully maintained are three parks, tennis courts, a beach pavilion, basketball court, playgrounds, but no sidewalks. That’s the reason why Golden Beach numerous police force is mainly busy enforcing its notorious speed trap alongside Collins Avenue. Bill Gates, Ricky  Martin, Paul Newman, and other celebrities own or have owned homes at the posh location, not to far from the wealthy shopping areas of Aventura and Bal Harbour.
